A conversation about Christmas Herbs isn’t complete without the much adored Peppermint
I love the story of the invention of the candy cane – a choir master in Germany asked a candy maker to make a candy stick that would keep the children quiet during services. In order to justify a confection at church, they shaped it like a Shepherds crook to remind the children of the humble sheepherders who came to worship the baby Jesus on that first Christmas night – the white and red were also symbolic of the Saviors life. The tradition soon caught on and candy canes became commonly associated with Christmastide!

I often utilize it with my clients and family members who struggle with indigestion – a lovey little product called Iberogast , formulated in Germany in 1961, contains 9 herbs and just 20 drops of this little formula has shown to be very effective in helping with indigestion and bloating. it can be useful for reflux as well.
This fragrant, hardy little herb is a favorite of mine to have in a pot in my windowsill making it easy to grab a handful of leaves for a quick tea or just to brush my hands over for a quick pick me up scent. ❤️
