Detox for Breakfast

Detox can be delicious!

So many popular “detox” and “cleanses” that focus on juicing, fruits and veggies (all good things) are missing a really important piece of the detox puzzle = protein.

Did you know that high quality proteins are ESSENTIAL for DETOXIFICATION? yep – especially proteins high in methionine – like pasture raised eggs, beef, chicken and turkey.
If you’ve spent the last few weeks indulging in too many processed carbs and sugar – your body will thank you for giving it some solid nutrition to begin the work of replenishing, restoring and rebuilding your health.

But here’s the trick – adding in powerhouse detox veggies like GARLIC and ONIONS along with herbs like ROSEMARY super charge your food and your detox pathways. 👊🏻

While a simple omelet or a sunny side up egg with salsa on whole grain toast (or sweet potato toast 😋) is a quick an easy weekday breakfast that gets you out the door quick, taking the time to make a traditional Shakshuka Mediterranean style dish on the weekends can be a delicious way to gather around the table with family and friends. (for brunch or dinner!)

don’t be afraid to add chopped veggies like spinach mushrooms, or chopped sweet potatoes with the onions and garlic or feel free to change up the spices and herbs – – this traditional dish has been served so many different ways from spices to savory to smokey
