Words of wisdom

11 years ago I sat like a puddle on the floor-
it felt like we had tried everything and yet our children’s health was not improving. we had one Diagnosis after another but no real answers.

Two women, who visited me regularly, sat on my couch that day as I poured my heart out to them. They listened and ached with me and the counsel they gave me was to go to the Lord, these were His children even more than mine –

and to study a revelation known as the Word of Wisdom, (found in Doctrine & Covenants section 89). To be honest, I was a little disheartened at that counsel.

– it seemed too simple.

But I had nothing to lose…

and so onto my knees and into my scriptures I went and as I read the sweet words of guidance that were “Given for a principle with a promise, adapted to the capacity of the bweak and the weakest of all csaints,.and taught of herbs, fruits in their season and other whole foods and finished with the promise “.

And shall afind bwisdom and great ctreasures of dknowledge, even hidden treasures;

20 And shall arun and not be bweary, and shall walk and not faint.

21 And I, the Lord, give unto them a promise, that the adestroying angel shall bpass by them, as the children of Israel, and not slay them. Amen.

..my journey into herbs and whole foods as pathways to health began.

I have hesitated to share much of that part of my story, until I heard @Lizzy.Jensen on @thewomenwithfire (Episode #37 ❤️)
and oh how my heart was touched and changed.

A little herbal tip?

Let’s talk about those beautiful evergreen boughs filling and adorning our homes this time of year- (the 🌲ones that remind us of the everlasting love of a heavenly father and the eternities ahead)

-They are full of healing properties.

An infusion of fresh pine needles can be applied topically for swelling and pain and a handful of fresh pine, fir or spruce needles infused in 2 cups of simmering water is incredibly soothing for coughs and colds – high in vitamin C and shikmic acid (the key ingredients of tamiflu).

The young new growth in the spring is the most potent (but even the lush green growth of the trees now will work), so take a small pair of trimmers with you the next time you venture out into the woods and bring home a small bit to tuck away for when you need it.

Just one more tender mercy to remind us of His love in every corner of this beautiful earth🌏
