“Sleep is the golden chain that ties health and our bodies together”
~ Thomas Dekker
Is a good night sleep is a thing of the past for you?
If so, you may remember the popular song by BNL called “Who needs sleep?” …during the years I was raising babies and young children – that became my anthem after many sleepless nights with sick babies or little ones and with bad dreams.
But being up at night in a parenting or caregiving role is an entirely different experience than laying in bed in a quiet house wondering if sleep will ever come.
Nearly 1 in 3 people suffer with some form of mild-insomnia and even more people toss and turn through the night never reaching that deep, restorative sleep that allows bodies to repair and restore from the work of the day.
If you are one of those 60 million Americans who struggles to get a good nights sleep, my heart goes out to you and this next week of posts is for you. Hopefully, if you’ve struggled with this for awhile you’ve taken steps to change your evening routines, eliminated caffeine, shut down those electronics earlier and are giving your body time to relax.
Along with all those good habits that contribute to a good nights sleep, sometimes there are vitamin and mineral deficiencies (functioning on little sleep wreaks havoc on those adrenals!) that can make it even harder to sleep even when you have done everything else right. Thankfully, there are several botanicals that can address those deficiencies and help bring that sweet sleep within reach- the trick is to know which one is right for you.
This week on my social media channels I’ll be introducing a variety of herbs that have long been prized for their ability to aid in the sleep department – some will be familiar friends, others might be a bit of a surprise!
Some free downloads will be available as well and I’ll be answering your questions too. If you miss any of the live posts, don’t worry – they’ll all be available as stories in videos in the archives for you to search as needed.
